History


The rise of the TEEKANNE GmbH company to a leading position in the tea market is of course closely linked to TEEPACK and of course to the double chamber tea bag.
 


1929


The first TEEKANNE tea bags come onto the market. The Saxon 'Teekanne' company builds its own tea bag packing machines developed by Adolf Rambold (a co-founder of Teepack). These are marketed world-wide with great success.

Foundation of the TEEPACK Spezialmaschinen GmbH company.
 


1949


The inventor Adolf Rambold, co-owner of TEEPACK, presents his fully-automatic tea bag packing machine – the CONSTANTA. This fully automatic machine can produce up to 150 tea bags per minute.

The double chamber tea bag, an invention of the TEEPACK / TEEKANNE company is patented. It revolutionises the tea market. In the double chamber tea bag, the tea is filled in two chambers allowing an optimum flow of water around the tea. This gives the tea its full aroma.
 


1967


Start of operation of the largest CONSTANTA tea bag production line in the world at TEEKANNE. Many of these machines are still in operation at TEEKANNE.
 


1991


TEEPACK presents its new machine – the PERFECTA – which can produce up to 400 teabags per minute.
The first PERFECTA machine – a further development of the CONSTANTA – goes into production.

The TEEPACK GmbH company gains the DIN EN ISO 9001 quality assurance system certificate.

1999


The double chamber tea bag developed by TEEKANNE / TEEPACK celebrates its 50th birthday.
 


2003


TEEPACK presents at the Tea & Coffee World Cup 2003 in Rome its PERFECTA UNIVERSAL knotting machine. This new developed machine produces filter paper tea bags with cardboard tag which by choice can be wrapped additionally into an outer paper envelope.

2005


Presentation of the brand new Zenobia with integrated AIR FREE SYSTEM on the Interpack 2005. For the first time it has become possible to produce block bottom bags with minimal air content using both the continuous and the intermittent operation mode in only one production step.

2008


At the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf, Teepack shows a further development of the Perfecta tea bag machine. The key feature of the new Perfecta Universal-HS model is that now three, instead of the previous two, types of double-chamber tea bags can be produced on a single machine.
