The Folding and
Tagging machine FM 260

Zenobia - Faltmaschine

The FM260 folding and tagging machine is the perfect add-on for a complete production solution. Working in conjunction with the ZENOBIA form, fill and seal machine located upstream, the system produces air-deflated block bottom bags with a folded top seam and attached tag. The complete system provides an output up to 100 bags per minute.

The block bottom bag is produced in the ZENOBIA form, fill and seal machine. After the bag has been filled, the bag is air-deflated to save space and to make it easier to pack. Teepack has patented this innovative air-deflation technology.

The bag is then sealed and travels to the FM260 folding and tagging machine.

Here servo controlled folding devices move along with the bag and fold the top seam, optionally either once or twice. Next, an application head attaches the tag precisely to the bag.

The work-in-motion principle of conveying the work stations along with the bags ensures operational safety and precision.

The folding process and application of the tag are independent of the bag format. This allows utmost flexibility: Switching to another format is fast and easy. Top and side guides can be adjusted via spindles; for great differences in format the bag modules on the conveyor belt can be exchanged.

Fluctuations in filling levels due to varying product densities are an important factor for the folding process. That is why the FM260 is electrically coupled with the density control device of the ZENOBIA machine upstream. The filling level of the bag is monitored to steer the vertical position of the folding devices in the folding machine. Via a step motor the bag can then be folded immediately above the filling level of the product.

The unit is equipped with a tagger. This dispenses a tag from a reel and transfers the tag at the appropriate instant via servo control to the oscillating application head.

The tagger can also be equipped with a printer. If desired, tapes can be used instead of tags.

As an alternative option to the labeler, a hotmelt applicator for fixing the bag excess can be installed.

The output outlet of the finished bag is variable. It can be parallel to the machine front or located vertically at the front, according to customer preference.

Advantages:

  • Easy to operate and cost-efficient

  • Machine takes up very little space
  • Maximum formatting flexibility
  • Automatically adjustable to filling level fluctuations
  • No additional cutting of packaging material above top seam
  • High performance through work-in-motion principle
  • Servo motors ensure high operational safety
  • No passive folding swords
  • Flexible outlet options
